National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has been in operation in CABM since June 2014. The basic objective of the NSS is to arouse and enrich the social consciousness of students. The scheme is intended to provide an opportunity to students to engage in constructive social action, programmes, develop co-operative team spirit and gain skills in democratic leadership quality. The Unit has been organizing activities related to social problems widely. Specific programmes relate to :
a) Environment : Plantation activities, cleanliness drives, plastic elimination campaign as well as seminars and workshops by eminent environmentalists are conducted.
b) Literacy : "A literacy programme is being conducted for the farmers on the Campus and on field also.
c) Health & Hygiene : Workshops and seminars by Doctors and Professors are conducted on issue related to AIDS, and stress to create awareness.
d) One-Day Camps : Camps are conducted at village sites where plays are staged for the public to make them aware to Education, Organic Farming etc. Cleanliness drives are also part of the camp to protect the environment. Such camps have been held at Village level.
e) One-Week Camps : Camps are also conducted in Different villages for volunteers who have been active throughout the year.
